GENERAL INFORMATION

The provision of a ledge on an insert
At installation the ledge on an insert has to enter a groove of the block of cylinders.

Installation of the central radical insert in the block of cylinders

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the new bent shaft is established, remove a rotor of the sensor of the moment of ignition from an old bent shaft and establish on new.
2. Clear a back part of an insert and the place of its installation in the block of cylinders and establish the top inserts on the places.
3. Check that ledges on inserts were combined with grooves of a cover or the block of cylinders (see rice. The provision of a ledge on an insert).
4. At installation of new inserts remove from them protective lubricant.
5. Pay attention that the central radical inserts have the persistent half rings executed in the form of an insert flange (see rice. Installation of the central radical insert in the block of cylinders). Keep in mind that the inserts installed in the block of cylinders have openings for lubricant supply while in covers only the central insert has an opening for lubricant.
6. After installation of radical inserts in the block of cylinders and a cover oil working surfaces of inserts pure engine.
7. Fill working edges of a back sealing ring of a bent shaft with lubricant and establish it on a bent shaft.
8. Being careful, install a bent shaft in the block of cylinders (see rice. Installation of a bent shaft in the block of cylinders).
9. Grease the lower inserts in covers of radical bearings with pure engine oil and check that ledges on inserts are in cover grooves. Establish covers of radical bearings No. 2, 3 and 4 and fix by bolts, having tightened them manually as far as possible (see rice. Greasing of an insert in a cover of the radical bearing).
10. Fill flutes in a back part of a back cover of the radical bearing with structure of Opel No. 90485251. Apply a thin layer of Opel No. 1404200 sealant on the lower surface of a back cover of the radical bearing. Establish a cover of the back bearing and screw bolts, having tightened them manually as far as possible.
11. Establish a cover of the forward radical bearing and fix by bolts, having tightened them manually as far as possible.
12. Gradually and in the diagonal sequence from the center to edge tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings in stages.
13. After tightening of bolts of fastening of covers of radical bearings press sealant into a groove of a back cover of a bent shaft. Wipe surplus of sealant.
14. Check that the bent shaft rotates smoothly and without jammings.
15. Check an axial side play of a bent shaft.
16. Check of an axial side play is made by the indicator of hour type which arm is established on the block of cylinders of the engine, and measuring наконеч the nickname leans in an end face of a bent shaft. Moving a bent shaft from an emphasis against the stop along an axis, measure the size of an axial side play (see rice. Check of an axial side play of a bent shaft with use of the indicator of hour type).
17. In the absence of the indicator of hour type the axial side play of a bent shaft can be measured by a probe edge, having moved a bent shaft to one party against the stop and having measured a gap between the radical bearing No. 2 and a bent shaft (see rice. Check of an axial side play of a bent shaft with use of the probe on the engine of 2,0 l of SOHC).
18. Install all earlier removed details on the engine.
