15:21. Vacuum amplifier of brakes

GENERAL INFORMATION

The vacuum amplifier of brakes reduces effort on a brake pedal, facilitating thereby driving. Operation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes is based on use of depression in an inlet collector. At an exit of the vacuum amplifier out of operation operability of the brake system is not broken, but for pressing of a pedal of a brake it is necessary to make considerably bigger effort.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Press a brake pedal several times at the idle engine to create the identical pressure close to atmospheric in cavities of the vacuum amplifier. At the same time determine by the effort enclosed to a pedal whether there is no jamming of the case of the valve. Stop brake loops in the middle of its course and start the engine. At the serviceable vacuum amplifier the brake pedal after start of the engine has to leave forward. If the pedal does not leave forward, check fastening of a tip of a hose, connection of fastening of a flange of a tip in the amplifier, a condition of a hose and the union. On cars with diesel engines check operability of the vacuum pump.
Prevention

In 1989 a part of cars were manufactured with height of installation of a pedal of a brake of coupling 15 mm higher than a pedal. Normal installation of a pedal of a brake is 4 mm lower than a coupling pedal. If necessary adjust height of installation of a pedal of a brake for what change length of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, rotating a fork on a pusher.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. In interior of the car remove the lower finishing of the dashboard from the driver.
3. Disconnect the electric socket from the switch of lamps of stoplights, then, rotating counterclockwise, unscrew the switch of stoplights and remove it from an arm.
4. Remove a spring bracket on the right side of the hinged finger fixing a fork of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to a brake pedal.
5. Using flat-nose pliers, remove a returnable spring from a brake pedal, then take the hinged finger fixing a fork of a rod of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to a brake pedal.
6. Remove the fairing located in the lower part of a windshield then remove the engine and drafts of a screen wiper.
7. Remove a broad tank.
8. Disconnect a vacuum tube from the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
9. Unscrew two nuts fixing the main brake cylinder to the vacuum amplifier of brakes. Remove the main brake cylinder from racks of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and move forward, without deforming at the same time brake tubes.
10. Remove two caps closing bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes (see rice. Removal of caps for access to bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, the Arrangement of a bolt of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes).
11. Using a face key, unscrew bolts and remove the vacuum amplifier from a partition of a motor compartment (see fig. of Vyvinchivaniye of bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, Removal of the vacuum amplifier of brakes from a partition of a motor compartment).
12. If necessary unscrew four nuts and remove an arm from the vacuum amplifier of brakes. The arm is established on the vacuum amplifier of brakes on sealant.
13. If the vacuum amplifier of brakes is faulty, replace him as his repair is not provided.

Installation

Measurement of distance from an end face of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to the center of an opening in a fork

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes check rod length with a fork.
2. Measure distance from an end face of the case of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to the center of an opening in a fork which has to make 144,0 mm. For simplification of measurement insert the corresponding steel core into a fork opening and measure distance to a core axis (see rice. Measurement of distance from an end face of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to the center of an opening in a fork).
3. If it is necessary to make adjustment of length of a rod with a fork, weaken a lock-nut and, rotating a fork, establish the required distance, then tighten a lock-nut.
4. Apply a thin film of sealant on the interfaced surfaces of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and an arm, then establish an arm on the vacuum amplifier and fix by nuts, having tightened them the required moment.
5. Apply the means interfering their unscrewing on a carving of bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier, then establish the vacuum amplifier on a partition of a motor compartment and fix by bolts.
6. Establish the caps closing bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
7. Install the main brake cylinder on the vacuum amplifier and fix by nuts, having tightened them the required moment.
8. Connect a vacuum tube to the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
9. Install a broad tank.
10. Install the engine from draft стеклоочис titel, then establish a fairing in the windshield basis.
11. Further installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal. Check operation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
