17.7. Cowl

Removal

Removal of a cowl from the car

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a cowl and record it in open situation.

2. If under a cowl the illumination lamp is established, remove a weight wire from the accumulator, then remove a lamp from a cowl and disconnect electric wires. For simplification of tightening of an electrical wiring at installation of a cowl tie a long thin cord to wires and after extraction of wires from cavities of a cowl leave a cord in a cowl.

3. Similarly take hoses of supply of liquid to a windshield washer.

4. Using a marker, note position of hinges on a cowl.

5. Enclose pure rags under cowl corners to protect a paint and varnish covering of the car at removal of a cowl. Having the assistant, support a cowl, then unscrew the bolts fixing a cowl to hinges and remove a cowl from the car (see rice. Removal of a cowl from the car).

6. At installation of a new cowl rearrange on it from an old cowl all removable details.

7. If necessary unscrew three bolts from each party and remove cowl hinges.

Installation

Adjustment of provision of a shock plate of the lock of a cowl

7 – lock-nut;
8 – spring;
9 – washer;
10 – bolt of a shock plate
x = 40,0 – 45,0 mm are also measured from the cowl panel to a washer (9)

Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments...

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Level a cowl according to earlier made tags and screw bolts.

2. For a cord involve electric wires and hoses in a cowl.

3. If the shock plate of the lock of a cowl was removed, adjust its situation according to rice. Adjustment of provision of a shock plate of the lock of a cowl also tighten a lock-nut.

4. Adjust the provision of a cowl so that at the closed cowl the gap on perimeter of a cowl was identical from all directions. For adjustment of a forward part of a cowl on height it is necessary to screw in or unscrew the rubber pillows located in a forward part of a cowl.
