Prevention
In 1989 a part of cars were manufactured with height of installation of a pedal of a brake of coupling 15 mm higher than a pedal. Normal installation of a pedal of a brake is 4 mm lower than a coupling pedal. If necessary adjust height of installation of a pedal of a brake for what change length of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, rotating a fork on a pusher.

| 1. When replacing coupling or a cable of coupling it is necessary to make initial adjustment of a cable of coupling. |
| 2. Using a roulette, measure distance from the center of a rubber overlay of a pedal of coupling to a steering wheel in a starting position of a pedal of coupling and write down the measured value. Press a coupling pedal against the stop and take similar measurement (see rice. | 3. Define the coupling pedal course for what subtract the first measurement from the second. The course of a pedal of coupling has to conform to technical requirements. Otherwise adjust coupling cable length as follows. |
| 4. In a motor compartment remove the bracket fixing a carving tip of a cable of coupling to the squeezing lever and rotating the regulator, adjust a coupling cable. Rotation of the regulator clockwise increases the pedal course, and counterclockwise – reduces it. Perform repeated measurement of the course of a pedal and establish the bracket fixing a carving tip of a cable of coupling. |
| 5. If coupling is operated a long time, perhaps, adjustment of a cable of coupling will not yield result. It testifies to wear of frictional overlays of a clutch plate and need of replacement of a clutch plate. Keep in mind that correctly adjusted pedal of coupling has to be established slightly above a brake pedal. If the pedal of coupling and a pedal of a brake are established at one height, it testifies to need of adjustment of a cable of coupling. The pedal of coupling has no free wheeling. |
