9.15. Fuel nozzles

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

When checking work of fuel nozzles never hold up hands or any part of a body under the fuel stream leaving a nozzle. Fuel comes out a nozzle under high pressure and can get into a body through skin.

During the operation of the engine there is a wear of fuel nozzles and after the run of 100 000 km it is necessary to make repair or replacement of fuel nozzles. The expert has to make check, repair and calibration of fuel nozzles.

For definition of a faulty nozzle it is necessary to be convinced that the engine is serviceable and the level of a compression is identical in all cylinders.

Weakening of a nut of fastening of a fuel-supply line on the checked fuel nozzle

Installation of the high-temperature plug in a nest of a fuel nozzle

Installation of the heat-insulating washer in a nest of a fuel nozzle

Installation of a sealing ring in a nest of a fuel nozzle

Arrangement of details of a fuel nozzle

And – the high-temperature plug;

Combination of a tag on the nozzle case with inflow on a head of the block of cylinders at the correct tightening of a fuel nozzle

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature.

2. Weaken a fastening nut топливопро water on the checked nozzle (see rice. Weakening of a nut of fastening of a fuel-supply line on the checked fuel nozzle). Note whether engine turns changed. Make the same check on accelerated single to the course.

3. At a serviceable fuel nozzle the obvious reduction of turns of the engine which is followed by its uneven work will be observed. If the checked nozzle is faulty, change of turns of the engine will be insignificant and will be gone if there was earlier foreign knock.

4. For access to fuel nozzles remove an inlet collector.

5. Remove pipelines of supply of fuel from the fuel pump to fuel nozzles.

6. Unscrew nuts from the top part of fuel nozzles and remove a fuel return pipe.

7. Unscrew fuel nozzles and remove them from a head of the block of cylinders.

8. Take from a nest of a fuel nozzle a sealing ring, heatisolira a yushchy washer and the high-temperature plug.

9. Bypass check of fuel nozzles мо to make at service station with use of the special equipment.

10. Install the new high-temperature plug heat-insulating a washer and a sealing ring (see rice. 11. Establish fuel nozzles in a head of the block of cylinders and tighten them the required moment. If the fuel nozzle is correctly fixed, the tag on the case of a nozzle has to be combined with inflow on a head of the block of cylinders (see rice. Combination of a tag on the nozzle case with inflow on a head of the block of cylinders at the correct tightening of a fuel nozzle).

12. Establish on fuel nozzles a pipe of return of fuel with new washers and fix by nuts, having tightened them the required moment.

13. Establish pipes of supply of fuel from the fuel pump to fuel nozzles.

14. Establish an inlet collector.

15. Start the engine and check tightness of fuel system.
