7.9. The fuel filter on models with the fuel pump located out of the fuel tank

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of the fuel filter on models with the fuel pump installed out of the fuel tank

Knot of fuel elements on models with the fuel pump located out of the fuel tank

1 – fuel filter;

2 – quencher of fluctuations of fuel;

3 – fuel pump

Removal

Depending on model the fuel filter is fixed or on an arm of the fuel pump under a back part of the car or on the right side about a niche for a spare wheel or before the fuel tank.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Prepare a container for collecting fuel after removal of the fuel filter.
3. Using clips, press fuel hoses from two parties of the filter for reduction of losses of fuel after a detachment of hoses.
4. Weaken screw collars and remove fuel hoses from the fuel filter.
5. Weaken bolts of fastening of clips and remove the fuel filter from an arm. Before removal of the fuel filter note the direction of an arrow on the filter case which specifies the direction of a stream of fuel and the provision of a tag of OUT (exit) at a filter end face.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal. At installation be guided by an arrow and tags on the filter case.
2. Start the engine and check fuel system for existence of leaks. In the presence of fuel leak immediately switch off the engine and remove the cause of leak.
