7.21. Fuel pressure regulator

Removal

THE SOHC MODELS (EXCEPT MULTEC)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. For improvement of access to the regulator of pressure of fuel remove the regulator of turns of idling. Disconnect a casing from fuel nozzles and move it aside, at the same time do not stretch a wire. Squeeze brackets of fastening and, having pulled a casing of wires on themselves, remove it from fuel nozzles.
3. Arrange pure rags under the fuel pressure regulator to collect fuel which can flow out at removal of the regulator.
4. Weaken collars and remove fuel hoses from the fuel pressure regulator.
5. Remove a vacuum pipe from the top part of the regulator of pressure and remove the regulator.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Take off pressure in fuel system.
2. Remove an air chamber.
3. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
4. Note an arrangement of the directing regulator cover pins, then, being careful, unscrew fuel pressure regulator cover screws. Pay attention that at removal of a cover the spring did not jump out. Remove a cover spring cup, a spring and a diaphragm. At the same time note them arrange ny (see rice. Fuel pressure regulator cover arrangement).
5. Replacement of a diaphragm needs to be made at each removal of a cover.

DOHC MODELS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Disconnect the electric socket from the air stream measuring instrument. Remove a sealing ring.
3. Weaken a collar, the fixing air branch pipe by the right end of the measuring instrument of a stream of air.
4. Using a face key, unscrew four bolts fixing an air chamber to the throttle case. Raise an air chamber from the case of a throttle and disconnect a hose from the basis of an air chamber, then remove knot of an air chamber / measuring instrument of a stream of air.
5. Disconnect two hoses of ventilation of a case from a back part of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and move them aside.
6. Disconnect the electric socket from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve.
7. Disconnect a vacuum tube from the fuel pressure regulator (see rice. A fuel pressure regulator arrangement on the DOHC models).
8. Arrange pure rags under the fuel pressure regulator to absorb the spilled fuel after removal of the regulator.
9. Unscrew four bolts located under the regulator and remove the fuel pressure regulator.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation of the regulator of pressure of fuel is made in the sequence, the return to removal. Check correctness of connection of tubes, hoses and electric sockets. Keep in mind that the vacuum tube of the regulator has to settle down from above a hose of ventilation of a case on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
2. On models with system of injection of Multec fuel perform also following operations:

— establish a new diaphragm so that it correctly settled down in a throttle case flute;
— correctly arrange a spring and a support of a spring on a cover of the regulator and a diaphragm;
— establish a regulator cover on the directing pins and screw screws;
— tighten screws of fastening of a cover of the regulator of pressure of fuel the required moment.

3. In conclusion before start of the engine check that there was no leak of fuel on the regulator for what create pressure in fuel system, switching on and off ignition.
